Chased car dismissed on; motorist wrecks

DURHAM -- Police have identified a man who gathering in to a tree after being shot Monday night as Rayshaun Cotton, 29, of Garrett Road.

He suffered vicious injuries and was taken to Duke Hospital for treatment.

Cotton was pushing west on Holloway Street nearby Guthrie Avenue prior to long prior to 9 p.m. when the situation occurred. Witnesses pronounced his car was being chased by a second vehicle.

The second car is described as a light-colored, boxy character car identical to an Oldsmobile Cutlass. It might have been shop-worn in the incident.
